Rajapalayam/Poligar Hound Dog Breed Features

This is one of the few Indian bred pedigree dogs that has been developed in the country and is almost on the verge of extinction now; there are just a few pockets at present in Tamil Nadu that have the presence of this breed.It is a large dog, usually measuring about 65–75 cm (25–30 inches) at the withers. It is a hound, and therefore should be kept in optimum working condition. Poligar hound dog is a perfect example for very low drooling tendency.
Ears and eyes should be cleaned regularly to avoid infections. Poligar hound dog's has average obedience intelligence. Patience is needed for teaching this breed to any tricks and commands though, but it's worth the effort.
Usually, they're very territorial and protective about their property, so the Poligar hound dogs will alert you if they sense something different.
