Chippiparai also known as Kanni, has its origin from Tamil Nadu, India.They were bred b the royal families in Madurai, and is symbol of royalty and dignity.
Chippiparai breeds are very loyal and intelligent dogs. They appear to be reserved, but get along very well.
They have short coat that can be easily maintained by brushing once a week with a soft brush.
They are good towards children, however very small children should be supervised as they might fall off because of the breed size.
Chippiparai dogs are very active and athletic. They can jump to an height of fix to six feet.Make sure they are provided with good amount of exercises regularly like walks and runs.
Chippiparai is a sighthound, that has their roots in South India. They were used for hunting wild boar and were a pride in royal families. They are great for guarding and protect their family. They are very affectionate towards their family members. They might appear to be skinny, but most of their weight comes from bone and muscle. This breed of medium dog comes in white, fawn, brindle, grey and red colors.
Chippiparai dogs are of very easy maintenance. They are adaptable to the indian weathers and require very less grooming. Training is easier with Chippiparai and they are eager to please their human friends. This breed of dogs are known for running at a very fast rate. They are shy animals and need to be socialized well from young age and familiarized with various sounds and scents. Chippiparai puppies love company and may get separation anxiety.
